50th anniversary: Loyola Jesuit student wins Lufthansa competition

As part of activities to mark 50 years of flying between Nigeria and Germany, Lufthansa Airlines in Abuja last week,  organised a Secondary School  competition in collaboration with Transcorp Hilton Hotel.

The airline invited selected schools in Abuja to forward essays from outstanding students. However, 16-year-old Ike-Njoku Nneoma of Loyola Jesuit College emerged overall winner with her essay titled, ‘The Aviation Industry and the Global Economic Crises.’

The prizes won by students include an all-expense paid trip to Frankfurt, visiting Lufthansa facilities and an historic tour to the birthplace of famous German poet, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, as well as laptops, cash prizes, hotel stays and dinner at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja.
