Residents are praying fervently for frequent rainfall owing to the intense heat that has enveloped the Kano metropolis. Most of the inhabitants of the city have not been sleeping well at night for more than a week now because of the harsh weather. There was, however, some relief last week when it rained once, but the respite was
temporary with the heat coming back in greater intensity. A resident, Malam Musa Tasi’u, said the hot weather had made life miserable for him ``because I sweat all night and I don't sleep well. ``I pray that the rains resume fully so that we have relief from this very unfriendly weather, which is disturbing me and my family.'' Another resident, Hafsatu Abubakar, also expressed concern about the scorching heat, saying the situation was taking its toll on her children.
