Electricty bills will not raise hgher than 11 percent the Chairman of the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), Sam Amadi, said on Wednesday.
An earlier report realeased had pointed out that electricity tariff would rise by 88 per cent, but the NERC boss confirmed that consumers would pay as low as 11 per cent increment when the new tariff regime takes effect in May this year.
Amadi while addressing journalists in Abuja, said that it was because of the various segments that the bill was divided into that caused the mixup, which led to the wrong figure of 88 per cent that was earlier reported by the media.
