Eminent Nigerians from both public and private sectors of the nation’s economy, including Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun state and Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, the source of Yoruba race have showed encomiums on President Muhammadu Buhari at he clocks 75 years.
While Governor Amosun went to the seat of power – Aso Rock Villa in Abuja to felicitate with and present giant card to President Buhari on Sunday, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Ogunwusi described President Buhari through a Press statement issued in Ile-Ife, Osun state as an extraordinary Nigerian leader globally known for relentless and dedicated service towards making the country a better place to live.
The royal father, who is Co-chairman of the National Traditional Rulers Council Of Nigeria, in a congratulatory message marking 75th birthday of President Buhari, signed by his Director of Media and Public Affairs, Moses Olafare, said “Mr. President is an incorruptible leader driven by uncommon discipline.”
Ooni noted: “President Buhari is no doubt an internationally respected Nigerian leader with a heart of gold, who has worked tirelessly to ensure a better society with his unwavering message of justice, compassion, peace and human dignity which has made him an inspiration to people around the world.
“His very clean record speaks for him for he has from 1961 till date meritoriously served this country in various capacities as a young soldier who later became a General, as a Governor of North-Eastern state, as a Minister of Petroleum, Head of State, as the Chairman of Petroleum Trust Fund, as an elder statesman and currently as the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Hate him or like him, he remains worthy of celebrations and emulations as an extraordinary leader driven by uncommon discipline whose relentless, dedication and incorruptible selflessness in the service of our country can never be ignored”.
Ooni however urged him to remain focused in his fight against corruption to make Nigeria a country of high global integrity, assuring him of the unflinching support of the people and the traditional rulers in Yorubaland.
Oba Ogunwusi then prayed for Buhari a sound health and plethora of fulfillments, as he pursues war against corruption with a view to ensuring a Nigeria of integrity.
