Union Express is a full-fledged courier and logistics solutions provider with the objective of ensuring efficient and safe delivery of share certificates, dividend warrants and other materials to investors.
Olagunsoji Olagunju, managing director and chief executive of Union Registrars Limited disclosed this at the company’s office in Lagos, saying that the development was part of efforts of the company to ensure efficient service delivery to investors.
He said the operation of Union Registrars have been restructured to ensure that share certificates and other relevant materials relating to investors are handled in a way to achieve the highest speed and safety.
According to Olagunju, “what we want to achieve by launching Union Express is to meet responsibility for the delivery of share certificates from our office here, which is the point of origin to the door steps of our clients. By this, we believe losses and delays can be drastically reduced.
“Other steps we have taken is to design shareholders grouping system using region, state, local government, and streets, for those using street addresses. The same system is also used for those using post office boxes such that share certificates and dividends are distributed more easily.”
He said Union Registrars now run on 19 branches at a distribution rate of three to four branches per zone. There are plans to open up more in the near future.
The company has implemented a robust information technology platform to enhance its capacity, with the branches running online real time with the head office.
This, he says, makes it easy to handle queries and investor complaints from across the country.
The MD said the company will continually review its processes to achieve the highest level of efficiency in service delivery to its clients.
