NDLEA arrests three drug traffickers at MMIA

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) of Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) command, has intercepted three suspected drug traffickers. According to Adeofe Olufemi Adeyemi, acting commander of the anti-drug agency, the suspects were smuggling substances that tested positive for cocaine when they were intercepted by operatives of NDLEA. He said Ekwunife Okechukwu Chinedu, 35, ingested 74 pieces weighing 860 grammes; Aluka Francis Michael, 27, swallowed 81 pieces weighing 1.240 kilogrammes while Chibuike Oguike Joseph, 26, ingested 65 pieces. The officials said Chibuike is still under observation until he excretes all the pieces of cocaine he ingested. He was arrested on arrival from Brazil on Saturday, November 27, 2009 at about 630a.m.
