Koyenikan made this known at Government House Umuahia when he paid a courtesy visit to Governor Theodore A. Orji.Â
He disclosed that records available in his office showed that Abia was the only state that had been left of the scheme of Federal Housing Authority Estates in the country.Â
The FHA Chief executive noted that because population explosion in the state, it was mandatory to have Housing estates in the state, adding that the number of houses in the state was not enough for its residents.Â
He hinted that Abia was one of the states that indicated interest within one month when his Authority requested for parcels of land.Â
The Abia Governor early in his speech said the FHA had come with a noble scheme which was also in tandem with his administrations priority if providing shelter for the citizenry.Â
He informed the FHA Chief executive that government had no business in being in business rather its had the policy of giving out estates for public private partnership for development. Orji said that his administration only gave out estates for corporate organizations and individuals to develop and thereafter gave government its due.Â
The Abia Governor expressed fear that he hoped that bureaucracy would not stall the good intentions of the Authority. He assured the authority of enough land in Abia once it was ready to develop such land in time.Â
