Insurance sector operators strategise against global challenges

Insurance stakeholders from across the globe will converge in Lagos tomorrow to brainstorm on how to launch the Nigerian insurance industry into the league of developed Insurance market. This will mark the maiden edition of an annual gathering titled “Insurance stakeholders Parliament,” with the theme: Refocusing the Insurance Industry, being organised by Financial Standard Newspaper in collaboration with Risk Analyst Insurance Brokers Ltd. 
According to the organisers, the parliament has as its main objective, the placement of the Nigerian insurance industry in the league of developed insurance markets like South Africa and United Kingdom. 
Both managing directors of Financial Standard Newspapers, Lucky Clement Okooboh and Funmi Babington Ashaye, managing director Risk Analyst Insurance brokers, said the parliament will look at issues such as factors that pose challenges to the insurance industry in its bid to achieve the Federal Governments Vision 2020. 
It will also take an overview of the London and South Africa markets and be able to ascertain what actually helped in the development of their markets.  
To achieve this, three veteran insurers from UK and South Africa slated by the organisers as guest speakers.
