Gas powered cars set for Nigerian roads
To herald this major shift in the use of liquid fuel, an international conference and exhibition on the marketing and use of compressed natural gas (CNG) for industrial, vehicular and estate domestic applications will be staged in Lagos from April 27- 29.
Okwudili Isreal Obi, managing director of GDSL disclosed this during a pre-conference briefing in Lagos.
According to him, the theme of the conference is “Fuel shift for a cleaner and safer Nigeria- Preparing the Nation for compressed gas.”
He disclosed that GDSL would be organising the conference in collaboration with AFV International of USA, Department of Petroleum Resources (DPR), Sterling Bank Plc and Raitas Communications.
He further stated that firms operating on gas would also benefit from the gas supply arrangement as GDSL distributes gas outside the gas pipeline zone.
The GDSL boss also said that the conference would bring under one roof, oil and gas companies, corporate users of gas and other bodies.
According to him, the conference will also parade a consortium of experts, who will brainstorm on the health dangers inherent in the current high level of emissions from vehicles and other machineries that run on liquid fuel.
He noted that it would also arouse public interest and awareness on the benefits of fuel shift to compressed natural gas.
The benefits he said include cost reduction, increased investment opportunities and a cleaner and safer environment.
The GDSL boss assured that corporate sponsors of the conference would gain publicity mileage and other benefits.
He also stated that the sponsors would have the opportunity to exhibit their oil and gas packages.
