Freedom of Information Bill passes second reading

Maleye, who said this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Abuja, gave assurance that the bill would become law.
Melaye expressed satisfaction with the operations of the News Agency of Nigeria under the leadership of its managing director, Oluremi Oyo. “ Before now, we complained about the content of your news and the use of analogue technology.
“But I must tell you we are impressed by the developments going on here in the agency,’’ he said.
Melaye urged other parastatal agencies under thesupervision of the committee to emulate NAN by improving on their internally generated revenue He described Tuesday’s ruling on the presidential election petition as a victory for democracy and PDP. “ I am happy that the judiciary has refused to dance to the gallery by upholding the rule of law,’’ he added.
