Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State is said to have taken the case involving the arrest of fake results printing to Aso Rock on the doorsteps of President Muhammadu Buhari to test the resolve of the President on integrity of elections.

The association of local council chairman (ALGON) in the state, led by Samuel Nwanosike of Ikwerre local council (caretaker), told newsmen on Monday, in the Old GRA, that the council chairmen demanded on arrest of the implicated political leaders.
Answering questions from newsmen, the spokesman of ALGON said: “The Governor has taken a letter to Mr President and we trust him to get to the bottom of this matter.” He said the president has set the agenda of transparency and anti-corruption stance including a determination to restore electoral integrity in Nigeria. Expectations are therefore high that the president, though a political leader, must do justice to the matter.
Nwanosike said the company that printed the fake INEC result sheets is linked to the opposition party in the state (APC) and that the culprit, Atonye Peterside, had told the police that they were engaged by an APC man, Emmanuel Chinda from Ogbakiri in Emuohua local council area of Rivers State to print the results.
The PDP chief said the confessions show that allegations by justices of the Supreme Court against the Minister of Transportation were true. He said ALGON met to say this matter could not be swept under the carpet.
He went on: “The police must do justice now because Chinda has no immunity; the Director- General of NIMASA who was mentioned has no immunity either, they must be arrested and tried immediately.”
He said: “We agree with INEC which has called for full investigation of the matter and prosecution of those implicated”.  He said the police was under pressure to transfer the matter to Abuja where he suspected the matter could be killed. “We will follow this matter closely to ensure nothing untoward is done to it”
INEC has since called for full investigation and prosecution of those implicated but the ALGON spokesman said INEC was the one that revealed the unit codes to those printing the fake results. The opposition leaders said the evidence was planted on opposition members and that the suspect was forced to government house where he talked under duress.
Reacting to this, Nwanosike said; “It is a fallacy to say the suspect talked under duress. He has been a printer for the APC for years, so how did we force him to accept this particular job? He is Dakuku’s cousin, so who would want to frame up such person. His computer has password and still had more jobs to print, so how did the PDP break his password to plant the materials he was printing? He is a member of Vanguard of Opobo Nation (VON) and has been printing things for the group. This people have nothing to say, we hve caught them red handed.”
He said his team was made up of election generals in each local council area and that there was no way the opposition could get victory in the December 10, 2016 rerun election.
