FEC, Perm Secs hold retreat on ERGP, 2018 budget

Acting President Yemi Osinbajo, Members of the Federal Executive Council alongside Permanent Secretaries are currently in a retreat season at the Aso Rock.
The retreat which is on the Implementation of the Economic Recovery and Growth plan (ERGP) and the 2018 budget preparation process has theme of “Building Synergy For Effective ERPG Implementation”.
The ERGP was launched in April by President Muhammadu Buhari with an expectation that it will bring the country out of economic recession.
The Federal Executive Council yesterday approved the 2018-2020 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) Fiscal Strategy Paper as preparations are said to be in full gear to meet the October deadline of submitting the budget to the National Assembly.
Minister of Budget and National Planning who briefed journalists after the weekly FEC meeting said the MTEF targets an economic growth of 7 percent by 2020. The growth target will be 3.5% by 2018 and 4.5% by 2019.
