The National Institute for Policy and Strategy Studies (NIPSS) has been charged to formulate policies that will help to sustain the current successes in the nation’s agricultural sector.

President Muhammadu Buhari, at an interactive session with members of Course 39 at the Presidential Villa, on Friday, harped on the successes recorded in the Agriculture sector and urged NIPSS to increase research into new methods that will help improve the current gains in the sector.

” I am sure you will all agree that in the first two decades of this century, we have seen significant shifts across the globe. Whether it is in security, trade, technology, global warming or population demographics, the world has truly changed” he said

Buhari noted that Nigeria cannot be “isolated from these trends”

” We are doing our best to respond to these changes. But we cannot be comfortable with just being a passive nation. We must be proactive”
