“I have often lost my memory and have been taking psychiatric drugs. But as I shouted the last Amen while the GS was praying, the mental disorder left me.”
These were the words of Moses Akpan, who was healed of mental illness at the Deeper Life Lagos City-wide crusade which began in Ikeja on Tuesday.
Akpan, who could not contain his emotions, thanked God for using William Folorunso Kumuyi, the general overseer of the church, to visit him.
The crusade, which is going on in all parts of Nigeria’s economic hub, has been characterised by testimonies of different magnitude.
Precious Ogbonna had had a lump in her breast before coming to the crusade in Ikeja.
“When the man of God asked us to raise our hand, I put up my left hand and placed the right one on my breast. While the GS was praying, I received an instant healing,” Ogbonna said.
For Chinaza Odum, something had been moving round her back before the crusade. But as the general overseer was praying, something jumped out of her body.
This was not the end. Jumoke Adeniran had had cancer of the rectum, which had been on for two years. This was also compounded by high temperature in her stomach. But, according to her, the ailments left her at the shout of the last ‘amen’.
Little Favour Adeniran was also converted while W.F Kumuyi was speaking on ‘The Glorious Supernatural Conversion to the Sinner’. There were also other healing testimonies relating to the chest pain, tooth ache and broken ankle, among others.
The Deeper Life Bible Church is known as one of the very few churches that still preach holiness and righteousness without which no eye shall see God. One thing that stood out in the crusade and all others being organised by the church is that there was no call for offering or donation.
While preaching on the conversion of the sinner, Kumuyi said Jesus Christ, known as Saviour of the world by Christians, did not come to condemn but to save mankind from the power of darkness unto light.
“Don’t say you cannot live a righteous life. The grace to live a righteous life is here. Forgiveness is here. The moment you say ‘Lord Jesus, I am a sinner’, He will not snub you. He is here to save if only you repent today,” the firebrand preacher said.
Quoting the Book of Revelation Chapter 3 vs 20, Kumuyi said Jesus is standing at the door of people’s hearts and is knocking, adding that anyone who hears and opens the door will have the privilege of dining with him.
