Slow progress casts shadow on possibility of West African Monetary Union

The latest January 1, 2015 deadline for the launch of a monetary union and adoption of a single currency (the Eco) for the West African Monetary Zone ((WAMZ) is missed yet, again. Various deadlines for the commencement of the Monetary Union project in 2003, 2005, 2009 were also missed and 2020 is now being considered….
