World’s number one virtual currency by value, bitcoin, has crossed $15,000 setting another all time high. The cryptocurrency has gained N3,000 in the space of three days as investors’ activities increase over news that bitcoin will be listed as a product on the CBOE futures on December 10, 2017.

Bitcoin price surged to a lifetime high of $15,058 on the Bitcoin Price Index (BPI) at 11:00 UTC today. On the Coinmarketcap, the price showed no signs of relenting as it hit $15,962 at 4 p.m Nigerian time representing a 63.63 percent increase in the past one week.

Analysts at Coindesk said the primary theory about the astonishing rally being put forward by investors on social media is that bitcoin is pricing in the entry of big institutional money via the introduction of the first BTC futures products.
