Nigeria’s Federal Capital Territory, Abuja is set to host thirty countries in the forthcoming 12th Abuja International Trade Fair. The fair would also showcase innovative exhibitions from states and tertiary institutions which have indicated interest to participate in the annual event.
The International Trade Fair has been scheduled to commence from 21st September to 7th October.
Chijioke Ekechukwu, the Director General of Abuja Chamber of Commerce and Industry, at a media interaction in Abuja stated that, “From the 21st of September 2017 to 7th October 2017, we are going to be having Abuja International Trade fare. It is an annual event, and this is the 12th Abuja International Trade fare which promises to come with a difference. So many countries are coming and so far we have 30 countries that have expressed interest in the Trade Fare.”
The event would also showcase exhibitions from agencies of government in promoting some of their innovations, while promoting locally made Nigerian products to would be investors who would also want to take up such innovative research findings.
“The focus is on promoting made in Nigerian goods and products,and many embassies have indicated interests to work more closely with us and match-make with Nigerian businesses in this respect.”he states further.
The agency, he added, has gotten signals from some institutions of higher learning in the country on some of their innovative products, which he said would also be showcased to key industry players for possible commercialisation and usage.
