Greenspring, BoA partner on summit to promote local content, made-in-Nigeria products
When stakeholders converge next month for a day summit, local content and the need to patronise made-in-Nigeria products will be the focus of discussion. Emphasis will also be laid on the positive effects of Nigerians buying goods and services produced in the country on national development.
The summit, being planned by Greenspring Communications Limited in collaboration with Bank of Agriculture (BoA), Innoson Motors, Med-View Airline and other frontline entities, has as theme, ‘Effects of Made-in-Nigeria Products on National Development,’ and will bring together business stakeholders, market enthusiasts and analysts, government agencies, IT practitioners, e-marketers, etc.
According to the promoters, the one-day Made-in-Nigeria Summit, which will also feature awards, is being planned to add value to Federal Government’s campaign on boosting patronage of locally made products and services.
“We believe that the summit and awards event is in line with our mission to drive local content and add value to clients’ patronage, while promoting growth in the nation’s economy. The summit will create a convergence of informed and educated players in various sectors of the Nigerian economy. It will also feature presentations and panel discussions from thought leaders within the country,” Peter Nwaochei, CEO, Greenspring Group, said in a statement in Lagos.
“The underlying objective of the conference and awards is to increase awareness on the critical role of Nigerian companies as fundamental pillars for strengthening the Nigerian economy through manufacturing, agriculture, and various expertise from different sectors in Nigeria,” he said.
Some of the confirmed speakers at the event include Abdullahi Adamu, chairman, Senate Committee on Agriculture; Innocent Chukwuma, CEO, Innoson Group; Rufus Ebegba, DG/CEO, National Biosafety Management Agency, Abuja; Odunayo Emasealu, CEO, Interior Woodwork, among others.
Nwaochei said the Federal Government Executive Order on the local content had given boost to both the manufacturers and indigenous firms in Nigeria, adding that it was an opportunity to harness along with government in its diversification effort to reposition the economy.
“This summit has come at a good time for all players to re-strategise, and refocus their efforts towards getting it right; it is also a platform for sharing ideas, networking and synergizing among stakeholders and policy makers towards a better economy for all,” Nwaochei said.
The award segment of the summit will focus on Most Innovation Award (Manufacturing); Excellence Award (Safety and Regulation); Prestigious Award (Agro business); Distinguished Award (Business Innovation); Outstanding Award (Leadership and Legislation), and Certificates of Honour to various distinguished firms and individuals.
