Kidnappers have placed a ransom of N20 million on Samsudeen Omotayo, the clerk of the Ikeja local government area, Lagos, abducted earlier today.

Omotayo was kidnapped at Imota, in Ikorodu on his way to work.

His kidnap is coming barely six days after six students of Government Model College, Igbonla, in Epe, were released by their Kidnappers in Ondo State, after 65 days.

BusinessDay gathered that the kidnappers have established contact with the family of Omotayo, and are demanding N20 million to release him unhurt.

Mojeed Balogun, newly sworn-in of Ikeja local government confirmed the kidnap to newsmen.

Balogun said the council was working to ensure the release of the clerk.

Kidnapping is rampant in Lagos, Nigeria’s economic capital.
