Nigerian-British chamber seeks sustainable development through infrastructure

Given the current state of recession in Nigeria, the Nigerian-British Chamber of Commerce (NBCC) wants the country to achieve sustainable development through infrastructure.

The chamber has, therefore, concluded plans to hold its third quarter advocacy roundtable on infrastructure for the year in Lagos.

Andrew Alli, managing director, African Finance Corporation, will be the guest speaker and will dwell on the theme, ‘Achieving Sustainable Development through Infrastructure.’

Joyce Akpata, director-general, NBCC, says infrastructure development is essential for national socio-economic development.

“The growth and development of a nation depends, to a very large extent, on the availability, functionality and sustainability of its infrastructure facilities. The rapid growth and increased urbanisation in Nigeria has increased the demand for wide-ranging and sustainable infrastructure development,” Akpata says.

According to the DG, the roundtable provides key stakeholders a platform to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the Nigerian infrastructure sector and is designed to add value to businesses of the invited guests through networking and showcasing of products and services.
