Taraba youth today barricaded the federal high court gate demanding a bench warrant for the EFCC to produce the Taraba APC governorship candidate, Sani Abubakar Danladi in court.
The youth on their placards inscriptions, demanded the federal government through the EFCC to stop shielding Sani the APC governorship candidate in Taraba to face the court.
The federal high court had October 23, summoned the governorship candidate to appear before the court on
5th, December to answer the 450m corruption charges against him and two others, however the governorship candidate defied the court order.
Leader of the protesters Mr. Christopher John who spoke to journalist at the federal high court gate accused the FG through the EFCC of shielding Sani, the APC governorship candidate in Taraba from facing the court as he (Sani), was not above the law.
The youth who were acting in respect to the federal high court order presided over by justice Steven Pam for the economic and financial crime commission EFCC to produce the Taraba APC governorship candidate in court on 15th January, which failure to, would compere the court to free the second and third defendants in the case, accused that the EFCC was been political and should be compere to produce the governorship candidate in court to answer corruption charges against him.
Sani Abubakar Danladi, the Taraba state APC governorship candidate who is a former Acting Governor of the state is facing a two-count charge of conspiracy and violation of financial regulations prepared against him and two others, Sen. Joel Ikenya and Mark Useni of collecting the sum of N450 million from former president Goodluck Jonathan for the 2015 election in the state.
