Assassins kill Kwara CP

The police command in Enugu State on Sunday confirmed that the commissioner of police in Kwara, Chinweike Asadu, was killed by unknown persons in the coal city.

A statement from the command’s spokesman, Ebere Amaraizu, said in Enugu that the late Asadu was gunned down as he was about to enter his Enugu residence in Abakpa Nike around 9.45p.m. on Saturday.

Amaraizu said the officer was rushed to National Orthopaedic Hospital, Enugu, where he was confirmed dead.

He said the police had launched a man-hunt for the killers.

Meanwhile, activities were at a standstill at Kwara State police command and Police Officers’ Mess in IIorin following the assassination of the commissioner of police.
