The Bola Ahmed Tinubu- led All Progressives Congress (APC) Reconciliation Committee set up by President Muhammadu Buhari to reconciled aggrieved members of the party at the federal and state level on Wednesday visited the National Secretariat of the party for consultation with National Working Committee led by national chairman, John Odigie Oyegun.
Speaking to newsmen shortly before Committee went into a close door session Tinubu said “I am here to consult on the directive of the president who is the leader of our party and the president of the country. I am all ears to listen to the various challenges that we have,” he said.
He noted that since the party’s last convention, where the members worked so hard to ensure victory, a lot of things may not have gone well with the party due the immense challenges the party faced, which may have brought some level of disaffection amongst its members stressing that party must reconcile its aggrieved members.
He noted that following high expectations from Nigerians, President Buhari is facing enormous challenges in trying to rearrange the Nigerian economy and fight against corruption even as he added that the President is tackling insurgency with appreciable level of success.
He urged all members of the party to work together to change and reform the country.
Welcoming the Committee to the APC headquarters, the national chairman, Odigie -Oyegun, said the party’s leadership will give it’s support to the committee to ensure that it succeeds.
